What is your interest in slime moulds? (we need to know you're not a bot or spamster)
I first came across slime molds when studying for an MSc in Holistic Science at Schumacher College, UK - and I was blown away! My area of work is in personal and professional development, and the slime mold is my totem in terms of a sentient whole perceiving what's needed and collaborating to make that happen; each individual cell hearing the call, and responding by carrying out its own particular role. Slime mold cells don't need career counselling - they just know what to do and they do it! And slime mold can save their community from grave danger by working together - something we've rather lost the knack of as we've developed individualistic, competitive ways of working. So I wrote a whole book based around this about why so many people are unhappy in their work, and the implications of that for themselves, their communities, humanity and the broader living world. And how the working world cold be so much more creative and collaborative - if only we were smart enough to behave a little more like slime mold!
