Hi Miguel.  I use an Odroid C1 with a USB camera and a USB light to make the time lapses.  The USB light is pretty cheap and has three settings, high, low, and off.  I think this is what I'm currently using : https://www.amazon.com/Reading-Lamp-Lights-Flexible-Gooseneck/dp/B0... . It is always on though.  I would like to set up lighting that kicks on right before the photo is taken and then turns off again to avoid exposing the physarum to too much light. Thanks for asking!
