If I were to hypothesise, the reason for the Physarum Polycephalum to be 'repelled' from the Stilton Cheese is probably because of the presence of Penicillium Roqueforti which is inhibiting the Physarum Polycephalum's growth. I'm guessing it's because the slime mould does not like the various second metabolites, i.e mycotoxins and alkaloids that Stilton contains as a result of the Penicillin Roqueforti. 

But I may be wrong, just what I think is happening. :)

Lunch - Left, white bread made with stout, right oats, bottom cheddar, top stilton. It doesn't appear to be attracted to the cheddar but it's fairly obvious something in the stilton is actually repelling it.
