Task: Will the slime mould find the shortest route to its food source?
Result: No! Well, they found the source of food but couldn't reach it. Oats were placed on a small piece of felt, which dried out before the agar base of the maze. Therefore the physarum was reluctant to leave the moist agar floor to reach the oats on higher drier ground, so it went hungry.

Hi Cathalina, The frame you're looking at measures around 20 x 30 cm. Hope that gives you an idea on dimensions. Please post your maze when you've done it, be great to see. Heather

I am working on designing a maze to test slime molds in and was wondering what the dimensions of your maze were?
