<p>I encourage it to go into sclerotic state so I can keep it for later use. I let it grow on damp tissue and then dry it out by taking the lid of the petri dish off but still keeping it in the dark - otherwise it has a tendency to fruit. once the slime has contracted and dried, the tissue can be kept dry and reconstituted months later.</p>
