Several plasmodia we cultured and several kinds of sclerotia.

Some of us have acquired a few slime molds through field collection or exchange with other enthusiasts. Below are some plasmodia and sclerotia (the were produced in a highly controlled environment with specific environmental parameters). This is an unidentified species, now gone—here today, gone tomorrow.

Physarum gyrosum Rostaf

sclerotia,Physarum rigidum

sclerotia,Fuligo septica

sclerotia,Fuligo septica. You might ask why it looks grey. In fact, we fed it charcoal powder during its plasmodial stage and then induced sclerotia before the powder was completely excreted; the particles appear to have been deposited on the surface. Inside, the tissue is only slightly greyish.
