What is your interest in slime moulds? (we need to know you're not a bot or spamster)
I learned about them during my undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences. I am fascinated by their combination of fungal and animal-like properties, the malleability of their form, and their resilience. They also seem to be pleasantly benevolent, contently digesting dead organic matter or bacteria, without any sinister pathogenic tendencies. Since university I have continued to read popular reports of slime mould research in computing and network design. My tutor was one of the scientists who won a 2010 Ig Nobel Prize for slime mould network research.
