Yeh in Amoeboid things actin filaments polymerise ( gel ) at the leading edge extending the cell  and break down at the trailing end ( sol ) contracting it in. In this view we're seeing the stable scaffold of an area that's not thinking of moving. In the other pic we've got actin filaments extending out as the cell starts to move

Awesome! Are these fibers involved in locomotion; do they contract?
