Hi Ian, I think it will be a challenge to find but especially to regognize the plasmodial form in natural habitat. Probably a blob/smudge of slime (that could become anything). The young sporocarps and mature sporocarps are probably more regognizable. Some young Stemonitis sporocarps are light pinkish, some are white with a clear dark vein. I've added some pics of young Stemonitis sporocarps for u :-D
Wonderful! I've yet to see these guys in their plasmodial form but I do like finding these little tufts lurking on a log
