I found three of these today on a rotting Scots pine trunk in the Lake District. About 8mm diameter and well apart in a shaded woodland. Is this a wolf's milk slime mould? (I think probably not because of the mycelium growths but I'm no expert.)

Hi
The texture looks a little rough. If you give 'em a poke with a finger ( not too hard ), the fruiting bodies feel kinda like a rubber ball filled with liquid whereas proper fungi tend to feel solid. If the white strands around the edge look like stretched dried mucous rather than actual fibres it's probably slime. You could go back in a few days and see if they're matured - then collect spores.. :)
