What is your interest in slime moulds? (we need to know you're not a bot or spamster): I am an amateur myxomycete observer. I photograph and identify the fruiting bodies I find in the field. Recently, I have been reading the research papers; TWiG Grant Final Report to the Big Thicket Association for ecological studies and Distribution and ecology associated with major vegetation types in Big Bend by Steven L. Stephenson and other amazing researchers.
I plan to create my own moist chamber cultures and film a time lapse of my findings. My interest in myxomycetes goes deeper than the art of fruiting bodies. I wish to understand the cellular structure and study all angles in hopes to one day contribute my research to energy sources or cancer reliefs.
