"I haven't given them water.I just let them start in a moist enviroment. (for example on agar) And I cover the containers with some kitchen foil.They are pretty tough, As long it's not dry or flooded, it should be fine."

Physarium P. grew over the entire area of a oatmeal agar covered Tupperware box over the course of 1.5 days.
