What is your interest in slime moulds? (we need to know you're not a bot or spamster): I am an MA student at Manchester University and my main subject is the Anthropological research. For the past two years I have been interested in human connection and communication - specially throughout new technologies and the Internet - but more concretely I am captivated by human capacity to form and gather around networks of very different types. Furthermore, human behaviour seems to be not only network-shaped, but network-built: we are made of networks that go from our biological structure to our social adaptation or cultural development. At the same time, I am working on different audiovisual projects. The Slime Mould represents a very graphic and operative description of how our human networks carry out and a very good example of the power that a network have itself compared with the individual. Although I am still not sure in which way I would like to make use of this phenomenon, I am sure it can provide me with different ideas for the audiovisual and graphic part of my work. Besides this, I consider the Slime Mould Collective a very interesting project that demonstrates itself the power of networking and how this could help to improve and develop the individual interests/work.
