I don't fully remember whether I vented the petri dish during the timelapse too many times, generally I try to minimise that for practical reasons. I think the liquid formation at the lid did prevent physarum from heading to that particular region. I need to remake this video at some point with a nicer looking mushroom; but I only have so much room.
Wow! Hands down the most interesting Physarum video I've seen yet. Amazing how it just zeros in on the mushroom, not even bothering to explore elsewhere until the mushroom is almost completely covered. Did you let it go to the point that the moisture evaporated? I'm wondering if the liquidation eventually negatively impacted it on the mushroom. It almost looks like it drowned itself.
