Here in all its glory, the "Dog vomit" slime mold Fuligo septica complete . . . with blown chunks and all. Probably one of the most common of species to be found in my area. Usually occurring in mulch piles at the base of trees and shrubs, rotten hardwood stumps and decaying hardwood logs. Sort of reminds me of banana nut oatmeal, Emm . . . !
