This is a rather nice pair or maybe a threesome if you would like too. Not too sure of the genus here, I am going to assume Physarum due to the appearance of the plasmodia associated with this particular bark culture. What really captured my attention though was the slime sheath (arrow) or so it appears, around the stipe of the one fruiting body. I pulsated for a number of seconds before it eventually calmed down and then some hours later became very less noticeable. It is probably nothing out of the ordinary, just something that I have never observed before over my years of observation. Seems as though slime molds are quite good at surprises.
