biomimicry driven urbanism

i am an architecture student working on biomimicry and its application in urban design for my thesis and i am fascinated by smile mold and would like to work on it as an example to follow in designin our cities!

can anyone help me out with the subject any help would be much welcome!

I am wondering if, given a bunch of houses, slime mold would replicate streets. Would it form neighborhoods? The question is: what are the natural substructures of a city? Is it really neighborhoods or something else.
