growth recordings advice

Hello everyone! I would like to ask about any tips and advice for slime mold recordings in petri dish. I had a few tries with phone recordings and using time laps apps but very poor quality and problems on the way.

What camera, or just phone will be enough, what app or settings, what conditions, with light or without etc. What is your experience and techniques? I need to improve quality of growth recordings. I would be extremely grateful for any help.
