Dyed plasmodium of Physarum - two oak flakes (soaked with methylene blue) were dried and finally placed onto the damp filter paper in the 90mm petri dish.
this experiment was done during nighttime - unfortunately, i fell asleep and forgot to change the battery in the camera. this is the reason why i only got this single image and don't know how the process of coloring looked like. however, i noticed yellow and narrow green/dark-green areas of the protoplasm as it reached the oak flakes in the beginning of the experiment.
absolutely beautiful - it would be great to see more of these, to see how long it took for the physarum to take up the colour. is it a gradual shift from yellow, through greens, to blue?
