After seeing a report on CNN and reading it and watching several videos I thought of a question:

If one slime mould from let's say for example the USA is "introduced" to a slime mould from another area (continent, country) do they interact together and work as one or do they notice they're from different areas and fight each other?

This is not a joke question, I am asking quite serious...

I know, it would be amazing.  But unfortunately people generally don't realize how connected we all are.

Ian actually did just such an experiment, he introduced three different slime molds from different countries to each other, it appears they simply became one organism.  Also I've read somewhere that two slime molds that fuse together have the learned knowledge of both of them.  http://slimoco.ning.com/video/when-worlds-collide
