An international network of/for intelligent organisms
So it seems lots of people want to start experimenting!
You can buy Physarum culture kits and specimens from educational/biological suppliers.
I know of (and have used) the following:
US: Carolina Biological
http://www.carolina.com/living-organisms/protists/slime-molds/10639...
UK: Sciento
http://www.sciento.co.uk/catalog/category/60/
If you know of suppliers in other parts of the world, please add them below...
Just found these online (not used before):
Australia: http://www.southernbiological.com/specimens/living-specimens-and-su...
The kits often come with instructions for experiments, but you can also find these online, for example: http://www.sciencebuddies.org/science-fair-projects/project_ideas/M...
Happy experimenting! And please share your results on slimoco...

Do you know any supplier in Brazil?
thank you
Também estou procurando, João. Você encontrou? (I am also looking for a supplier here. Have you found?)
I'm still rearing the little critters and happy to post you some
Hi, Ian! I am very grateful for your kindness. Are you in UK? I wonder if the mold would survive the shipping to Brazil. I also looked on the companies websites that sell kits with Physarum, but I didn't find it here. Thank you again for your concern. Much appreciated!
Hi, i post it in its hibernating sclerotium phase so it'll keep for years. I'll have more ready to post in about a week
Thank you very much, Ian!! What should I do?
Hi Ian
I just read your post and am very interested in learning more about slime mould. Is there any chance you could post me a little bit so that I can try to rear some too?
Thank you,
Alex
I'll post you some from the UK,just message me your details
Anyone in Sweden / Denmark managed to source any Physarum locally?
I'm running a workshop in Malmö in August and need some stock plasmodium.
Can import it from biological suppliers, but thought I'd ask here first… Thanks, :)
Hi Heather
Most comparable experiments here are carried out with Badhamia. I guess it's because Physarum is not sourced locally and a bit difficult to obtain from the wild as the climate is a fraction too cold for it to be a common species.
Regards, Niels.
Thanks Niels, much appreciated.
I haven't worked with Badhamia before. Do you know if it has similar properties to Physarum polycephalum? I know they're a different order of classification - do you know if they are comparable in any way behaviour wise? Or if any specific research is done with Badhamia?
For the workshop I will probably import some Pp, but I'd be interested in knowing more about local species and research around Malmö area.
Thanks again,
Best, Heather
