"Hey Ian, I've been watching this and it looks great. I'm doing the opposite now. Trying to coax some fruiting bodies into producing sporangium. Nothing as exacting as your processes, but if I get the light levels right (finding the right…"

"Hi ian, Thanks for the suggestion. I really like the strip of staples idea for punching out a section of agar. So would the Physarum stay on top of the agar and avoid the dry surface that's it's sitting on? Best, Mark"

"Hi Paper doesn't work well for me, agar is quite reliable. You'd need plain unflavoured vegan 'gelatin' basically - 2g per 200ml water makes something workable. You can cut it out with a stiff wire loop, spatula, a strip of…"

A taste of mushroom

"Wow! Hands down the most interesting Physarum video I've seen yet. Amazing how it just zeros in on the mushroom, not even bothering to explore elsewhere until the mushroom is almost completely covered. Did you let it go to the point that the…"

"Looks to me that they were forming a protective coating to prevent from drying out. If so, very clever."

Slime Mold Fruiting (Long version)

"Great video! Did the fruiting bodies eventually go all the way to sporangia? If so, have you tried to get the spores to germinate? I'm hoping I can get my specimens to do this one day. -Mark"
